Moving On Over to OverDrive

As of Friday, September 22, 2023, the Axis 360 digital content platform is no longer be available through the Atlantic County Library System. eBooks previously available in Axis 360 will be transferred to our OverDrive eCollection which can be accessed in a browser or through the Libby app.

What does this mean?

  1. ACLS will no longer offer content through AXIS 360. Users do not need to download the new Boundless app -- no ACLS content will be available through it.
  2. Patrons with titles checked out in AXIS 360 after the transfer will continue to have access to them through their due date. However, they MUST REMAIN LOGGED IN to their AXIS 360 app for this to be possible.
  3. Unfortunately, any existing holds in AXIS 360 on September 22 will NOT automatically transfer to the same title in OverDrive. A list of active holds in Axis 360 has been created and we will manually add your hold to OverDrive on Monday, September 25.

Our hope is this move from Axis 360 to OverDrive will make it more convenient for you to access more of the titles you want all in one place. We apologize for any inconvenience and encourage you to use the Online Contact Us Form if you have questions or need assistance.

One Book at a Time

Join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Atlantic County Library System

The Mission:

  • to promote a lifelong love of books and reading to newborns, infants, and toddlers
  • to encourage parent and child bonding through reading

The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is a nationwide challenge that encourages parents and caregivers to regularly read aloud to their children. By reading just one book a night, families can reach the 1,000-book goal in three years and provide their children essential early literacy skills.

Registration for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is open to all families with children between the ages of birth and five years at all our branches.

In Memoriam: Bonnie Cohen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved friend and dear coworker, Bonnie Cohen, of our Brigantine Branch on April 13, 2020.

Bonnie was full of fun and a pure joy to work alongside. She had the biggest heart to all that she encountered, and a sparkle that certainly will be missed.

Bonnie’s light shone brightest when she held her weekly “Storytime with Miss Bonnie” at the Brigantine Branch over the past 9 years. She brought children on an awesome adventure once she opened a book. Her love of interactive storytelling, matched with the curiosity of kids, equaled a memorable and spirited experience for all. She set such a high standards with her commitment to children’s and storytime programs that kids and parents alike flocked to her narratives.

Her contributions to the Brigantine Branch are immeasurable and we will be forever guided by her influence.

Donations can be made to the Atlantic County Library Foundation, Brigantine Branch, in honor and memory of Bonnie Cohen and "Storytime with Miss Bonnie." Atlantic County Library Foundation, 40 Farragut Ave., Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
