Issued a Sommons [sic]  in the 
A bove [sic]  Case Returnable Before me one [sic] the 
twenty third Day of September at two oclock [sic] in
the after noon September the twenty third 1865
return the within Summons By reading and Leaving
A Coppy [sic] with the mother of the Defendant at 
his residence H Shaw Constable The party
met at two oclock [sic] And the plantiffs fild [sic] there
State of Demand and the Defendant fild [sic] his
plea and the Defendant put off the trial
two weeks the Sevenths Day of October the party

October 7th
met at two oclock [sic]  and the Plantiffs Adjorned [sic]
the trial for two weeks longer on Account of
witness and his [Atturner] J Nixon October the

October 21st
twenty first the party met and went in   
to trial James Nixon on the part of plantiff [sic]
And William Thompson on the part of the
the Defendant Nixon opened the case
And Thompson Denied the Legality of the 
Note on Account of the witness to there [maoh]
was not presen [sic] to testify to it and after
Agument [sic] I gave And unsuit [sic] wit Cos [sic] of 
Suit on the plantiffs [sic]  of one Dollar
And Ninty [sic]  Six Cents
