Sawyer

SAWYER is a small-town romance centered on two single parents who aren’t looking for anything serious—but find themselves drawn together anyway. Ava Bartlett is starting over after a difficult divorce. Sawyer Rivers is a devoted dad with deep roots in the Lucky River Ranch community, balancing responsibility with a very guarded heart.  When their paths cross, the connection between them feels easy and natural, but both carry emotional baggage that makes trusting someone new complicated. Much of the story unfolds through quiet, everyday moments—parenting challenges, chance encounters, and the slow building of familiarity—that allow their relationship to grow at a realistic pace. The book emphasizes healing, patience, and what it means to build a future when life hasn’t gone according to plan.  Within the Lucky River Ranch series, SAWYER fits seamlessly into the shared ranch setting. While it can be read on its own, it deepens the sense of community by featuring recurring locations and familiar faces from earlier books. The novel continues the series’ larger themes of family, second chances, and finding love in unexpected places, while setting the stage for future stories centered on other members of the Lucky River Ranch world.

I can’t get over how satisfied I felt after finishing this book. The characters are beautifully written, each with meaningful story arcs, and the big, loving family set in a close-knit small town made it even more special. And of course, the COWBOYS! I was swooning from chapter one, and it never let up. While I can’t get enough of this series, this book truly stands out for its incredible relatability. Life is messy, and this story captures that perfectly. I really appreciated how the characters face real-life problems and situations that feel genuine and easy to connect with. SAWYER by Jessica Peterson is a fantastic addition to the Lucky River Ranch series.
