327 days after Hurricane Sandy blew through our community, the Brigantine Branch of the Atlantic County Library System has moved back to 201 15th St. South.
Many people may not have realized that the original branch building has been out of commission for so long. Our dedicated staff, working out of a room in the Brigantine Community Center, maintained and provided for the community in the most professional way they could under the circumstances and never left a gap in our Library’s services.
While limited in size, “The Outpost,” as it was referred to, provided all the same benefits that the Atlantic County Library System is proud to offer our patrons: access to Wi-Fi, computers, newspapers, magazines, books, dvds, music and reference help. In addition, “The Outpost” became a place to meet for residents affected by the Sandy as well as to find recovery and healing information.
In the midst of all of this, the Brigantine staff worked tirelessly to get back home and on September 20th they did. Stop by ACLS’ Brigantine Branch to say Hello and Thank You.
