App-arent Issues

We are currently addressing two temporary technical issues in the Aspen LiDA mobile app that affect digital checkouts and physical item renewals. While we work to resolve these bugs, patrons can easily manage their accounts, renew items, and access Libby and Hoopla through our online web catalog or by contacting their local branch. Read more about the two temporary glitches and how to easily work around them.

If your Aspen LiDA app has been giving you trouble lately, you’re not imagining things. We’re currently tracking two temporary bugs affecting app users:

  • The “Thinking…” Spiral: When checking out or placing holds on Hoopla or OverDrive/Libby digital titles, the screen gets stuck loading indefinitely.
  • Renewal Block: The app is currently preventing patrons from renewing physical books, even if the items are eligible, have no holds, and aren’t overdue.

The Easy Workaround

The good news? These issues are strictly isolated to the mobile app—our main web catalog is working perfectly!

While we work on ironing out these digital wrinkles, here is how you can keep reading uninterrupted:

  1. Use Your Web Browser: Log into your account on our online catalog using any mobile or desktop browser. You can seamlessly place holds, check out Hoopla/Libby titles, and renew your books there.
  2. Give Us a Call: Prefer a human touch? Call any ACLS branch, and our staff will happily renew your physical items over the phone.

Thanks so much for your patience while we get everything fixed up!
