The Job Center offers materials on vocational aptitude, training, job searching and resume writing, plus business directories and listings of agencies that provide job search assistance.

Books in the Job Center Collection

A specialized collection of reference books on careers, vocational guidance, directories for job seekers, resumes, cover letters, industry and occupational outlooks and much more is located in the Reference Center.

Many other books on job-related topics, including test preparation books, may be borrowed with your library card and located through the library catalog. If you don’t find what you need, please ask a library staff member for help.

Q. Do I have to come to the Job Center in Mays Landing to access job listings on the Internet?
A. No, you may access job listings on the Internet on any Internet terminal, whether on your personal computer or at any library branch. Go to our EXPLORE Links employment page.

Q. Does the Job Center have a staff or counselors to help me get a job or write a resume?
A. No. The Job Center is a self-help collection of books and World Wide Web links that you can use to get a job or write your own resume.

Q. Can I get help to learn how to search the Internet for jobs?
A. Yes. If you are not familiar with Internet searching, ask a library staff member for a brief introduction to get you started.

Q. Can I post a resume on the Internet at the library's terminals?
A. Yes, you may post a resume using the Workforce New Jersey website or other Internet employment sites.

Q. Does the Job Center have word processing so I can write papers and reports?
A. Yes, word processing is available. Resume templates are offered in the software program.
